federal role in water resource management and water quality is varied and
involves many different congressional committees, federal departments, and
agencies. Consequently, there are many overlaps in coverage of major
policy issues and related statutes (e.g., Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking
Water Act, Water Resources Development Act, and Magnuson-Stevens Fishery
Conservation and Management Act). This table provides access to names and
